Manchester United need to drop two key players vs Fulham ahead of Paris Saint-Germain fixture

Key players rested

Speaking on Friday afternoon, Paris Saint-Germain manager Thomas Tuchel exclaimed he knows 10 of his starting line-up for the Manchester United match next Tuesday, and you sense Ole Gunnar Solskjaer probably does too.

The one negative of such a formality means that key players probably need to be rested this weekend against Fulham in order to protect them for the Champions League tie.

Ashley Young is the best choice at right-back for the European encounter and would benefit from a rest at Craven Cottage this weekend, while it might also be an ideal opportunity to rest Nemanja Matic.

When Tuchel gave the PSG team news, he revealed Marco Verratti is the only player not confirmed to start the game, but Matic needs to be protected in case the Italian does pass late fitness tests.

An extensive overhaul to the team isn’t required however, and United do not want to risk a repeat of the Burnley draw from last month.
